Working closely with the Maintenance and Processing teams, you'll carry out preventative maintenance, shutdown work, breakdown repairs and fabrication to ensure plant availability and safe, efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on fixed plant equipment Carry out breakdown repairs and fault finding Complete fabrication, welding and mechanical repairs Maintain crushers, conveyors, pumps, mills, piping and processing equipment Replace bearings, gearboxes, shafts, rollers and mechanical components Read and interpret engineering drawings and maintenance documentation Assist with planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and maintenance standards Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the operation About You To be successful in this role, you'll bring: Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter/Welder or similar mechanical trade Previous experience maintaining fixed plant, processing plant or heavy industrial equipment Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills Experience with MIG, Stick and TIG welding Experience working with conveyors, crushers, pumps, piping or rotating equipment Current Driver Licence Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance Excellent communication and teamwork skills Desirable Previous experience within underground gold or metalliferous mining operations Experience maintaining mineral processing plant equipment Current First Aid Certificate Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications Rigging, dogging or crane operation experience Additional mechanical or welding certifications Build Your Future Here Opportunities to join a mining operation at this stage are rare.
