You will join theCore Infrastructure team within ASB’s Engineering Practice. The team works in small, focused squads and takes a collaborative, agile approach to delivery. We support ASB’s enterprise network environment across on‑premise and cloud platforms and work closely with engineers and stakeholders across the bank.

As a Cloud Networking Specialist in Infrastructure Services, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the foundational network services that support ASB’s technology stack across on-premise, cloud, PaaS and SaaS environments. In the Engineering Practice at ASB, we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve customer outcomes.

You’ll bring strong enterprise networking experience, with a growing or established focus on cloud networking, automation and Infrastructure as Code. This role suits someone who can bridge traditional network engineering with modern cloud platforms, helping ASB deliver secure, scalable and highly available connectivity across Azure, AWS and our on-premise environments. You’ll get hands‑on with complex enterprise‑scale work while contributing as part of a smaller squad where your voice will be heard and your opinions valued.

• Design, provision and support cloud networking services across Azure, AWS, PaaS and SaaS providers.
\n
• Support connectivity between ASB’s on-premises environments, data centres, campus, Wi‑Fi, business partner networks and cloud platforms.
\n
• Automate and support infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code across Azure, AWS and on-premises environments.
\n
• Continuously improve network platforms, processes and solutions to be secure, scalable and highly available.
\n
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and build tools that improve productivity and operational outcomes.
\n
• Provide monitoring, alerting, reporting and operational support across network and cloud environments.
\n

Skills and experience\n

With regards to background, the following capabilities are a must:

\n

\n
• Strong experience with enterprise networking, including Cisco networking solutions, LAN/WAN and IP networking.
\n
• Routing protocol experience, including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
\n
• Azure cloud networking experience, including VNet, ExpressRoute, Traffic Manager and Network Watcher.
\n
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
\n
• Automation and CI/CD practices, including pipeline‑based deployment approaches.
\n
• DNS management and integration.
\n
• Infoblox experience across IPAM, DHCP, DNS and API integrations.
\n
• Ability to support secure connectivity between on‑premises environments and cloud, PaaS and SaaS providers.

The following capabilities would be a bonus:

• AWS cloud networking experience, including VPC, PrivateLink, App Mesh, Transit Gateway and Direct Connect.
\n
• Software‑based load balancers, including Azure Load Balancer and AWS Elastic Load Balancing.
\n
• Ansible for network and cloud configuration automation.
\n
• YAML configuration for IaC, automation workflows and pipeline definitions.
\n
• GitHub Enterprise, including repositories, workflows and pipelines.
\n
• Azure DevOps Pipelines, including Classic and YAML pipelines.
\n
• Relevant Azure, AWS, networking or automation certifications.
