\n Consultant Medical Oncologist – Permanent Part‑time (Gisborne Hospital)\n

Based at Gisborne Hospital, this role offers the opportunity to practice meaningful medicine within a beautiful, community‑centred region while benefiting from a generous relocation package, teaching opportunities, and a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

About the Role & Service\n

As part of the Te Manawa Taki Regional Cancer Centre, you will work alongside the highly regarded Waikato Hospital Oncology team, a group known for clinical excellence, innovative research, and active academic involvement.

Key responsibilities include:

    \n
  • Collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including 8 medical oncologists, 10 haematologists, 10 radiation oncologists and 5 palliative care physicians through regular meetings.
  • \n
  • Contributing to a full spectrum of clinical trials, including phaseI studies of novel agents.
  • \n
  • Providing oncology services to a regional multicultural population of 750,000, including chemotherapy administration and outpatient clinics at Hamilton and three secondary hospitals.
  • \n
  • Engaging in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as part of Waikato Hospital’s role within the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Medical Oncologist, vocationally registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of NewZealand.
  • \n
  • Versatile and flexible clinician with a passion for team collaboration.
  • \n
  • Commitment to eliminating health inequities.
  • \n
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • \n
  • Ability to work part‑time with FTE accommodation to meet ImmigrationNZ andMCNZ minimum hours requirements.
