Varied, challenging and interesting work An opportunity to grow within Work as part of a highly engaged, friendly and cohesive team About The Role As an HR Advisor, you'll work alongside our HR Business Partners to provide operational HR support. You'll partner with leaders to deliver high‑quality HR advice, contribute to organisational initiatives, and help ensure our people practices are consistent, practical and people‑centred. This is a varied generalist role where you'll have the opportunity to: Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. Support leaders with recruitment, performance management, remuneration and general employment matters. Assist with organisational change initiatives and HR projects. Contribute to the delivery of key People & Capability programmes, including engagement surveys and remuneration reviews. Review and improve HR policies, processes and systems through a continuous improvement mindset. Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders and colleagues across Council. About You You’ll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes ownership of your work, and is confident providing practical HR advice in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll be curious and have the ability to adapt to business needs. You'll Bring Experience in a generalist HR role. A sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice. Strong relationship‑building and communication skills. Excellent judgement, discretion and professionalism. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
