About the Role As a Registered Nurse Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), you will provide specialist nursing care to patients during the critical recovery period immediately following surgery and anaesthesia. Working in a fast-paced and highly skilled environment, you will assess, monitor and support patients as they recover, responding quickly to changing clinical needs and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your advanced clinical skills and critical thinking in a specialist perioperative setting. You'll work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues, playing a key role in delivering exceptional patient outcomes while supporting patients and whānau through an important stage of their healthcare journey. The PACU team is a dedicated group of skilled nurses and healthcare professionals who work collaboratively to deliver expert post-operative care and support. Based at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, you will join a supportive and professional team committed to clinical excellence, continuous learning and outstanding patient care. Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate. Postgraduate nursing experience in surgical, perioperative, critical care or acute care settings. Advanced assessment and clinical decision‑making skills. Excellent communication, teamwork and time management abilities. A commitment to professional development, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and equitable health outcomes.
