Digital Lead - Contract role Our client is looking to hire a Digital Lead who will be responsible for managing a cross‑functional digital team, overseeing transitional service agreements, establishing governance, and aligning future digital strategy with board and external stakeholder expectations. This will be a Wellington based contract role till December 2026 with a possible extension. Key Responsibilities Lead the Digital Workstream: Direct all digital initiatives and workstreams leading up to the official launch/commencement date of the new entity. People Management: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary digital team. Manage Transition Agreements: Oversee the relationship with the parent organization and digital teams. Transition‑Out Planning: Lead the development and execution of the transition‑out schedule to ensure operational independence. Implement Digital Governance: Establish clear governance frameworks. Board & Executive Reporting: Manage expectations and provide strategic digital updates directly to the Board of Directors and key executive stakeholders. Successful Candidates Will Have Proven experience as a Programme Lead / Manager in complex environments. Ability to lead technical delivery team. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. High attention to detail with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset. Strong working knowledge of Digital systems in public sector.
