Overview Casual Health Care Assistant – Casual Pool – Nelson Hospital. Work alongside nursing teams across all wards/units to provide patient care and support. This role offers variety across all wards/units and requires flexibility to adapt to a changing clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist nursing staff in care delivery. Provide one‑to‑one patient therapeutic observations. Perform tasks directed by nurses and other healthcare professionals. Support general surgical, medical, and acute care nursing teams. Qualifications Experience within the health sector required. Ideally hold NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Health Assistance Strand, or equivalent. Willingness to study toward the required qualification. Strong communication skills and mature outlook. Ability to work flexibly, methodically, honestly and reliably, and demonstrate initiative.
