Job Description

Family Court Coordinator – Permanent Full Time The Family Court Coordinator contributes to the operation of the Family Court by coordinating specialist services and playing a key role in managing relationships with management, the judiciary, professional service providers, legal practitioners, court users and community groups. This role is part of the Domestic Violence Programmes Team and supports the work of District Courts across New Zealand. The Domestic Violence Team’s responsibilities include ensuring the timely management of domestic violence programmes across the Family Court and Criminal Court jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Coordinate specialist services across the family and criminal court jurisdictions. Manage relationships with management, judiciary, professional service providers, legal practitioners, court users and community groups. Support the Domestic Violence Programmes Team in ensuring timely management of domestic violence programmes. Skills and Experience Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to juggle competing demands in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated with high levels of initiative. Committed to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi. Experience in or knowledge of Family Court procedures and legislation. Analytical skills to enable relevant legislation to be interpreted and applied. Proficient levels of computer literacy. Benefits 4.4 weeks holiday leave. An online professional development portal.
