The AI Engineer will work closely with AI Agents as a key member of the AI Enablement Programme. Working from process designs and use cases provided by the AI Designers, the AI Engineer will use Microsoft’s Semantic Kernel framework to create intelligent agents and Microsoft Power Automate to orchestrate automations. This is a fixed term contract, based at our Tauranga or Hamilton office. Reporting to the Head of Digital, Data and AI role, the AI Engineer will be primarily responsible for: Translating business-validated AI opportunities into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable value across CIP. Will work closely with AI Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and the wider technology team. Has recent experience in deploying Machine Learning or Generative AI technology. Has had good exposure to working with Microsoft Azure and other cloud technology. Ensuring the full technical lifecycle of AI Agents – from prototype development through testing, iteration, and production deployment. Develop AI Agent architectures that are modular, maintainable, and aligned with CIP’s technical standards and security requirements. Develop rapid prototypes of AI Agents to validate feasibility and demonstrate capabilities to the AI Designers and project stakeholders. About You This role will suit an experienced AI Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment in a fun and collaborative team. The successful candidate will operate within the parameters of the NZX rules and regulations, relevant legislation and CIP procedures and policies as well as have: Microsoft certifications in Azure AI services, Power Platform, or .NET development are highly desirable. AI or machine learning certifications (e.g., Azure AI Engineer Associate, AI-900, AI-102) are an advantage. 2–4 years’ experience in software development with a focus on C# /.NET. Excellent communication skills – able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with AI Designers and SMEs. Self‑motivated and comfortable working in an emerging technology space where requirements may evolve. Detail‑oriented with a commitment to code quality, testing, and documentation. Collaborative team player who can partner closely with AI Designers, business change teams, and external vendors. #J-18808-Ljbffr
