About the Role As a Specialty Clinical Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey within the Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R) Unit. Working closely with patients, whānau, and multidisciplinary teams, you will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop personalised care plans, and help ensure patients are well prepared to participate in intensive rehabilitation programmes. This is an opportunity to use your specialist clinical knowledge to improve outcomes for older persons and rehabilitation patients. You will collaborate with acute and rehabilitation services, contribute to service development, and provide expert guidance that supports safe, effective, and patient-centred care. As a senior nursing professional, you will also play an important role in fostering continuous improvement, education, and clinical excellence across the service. About the Team/Service/Location Our Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R) Unit is dedicated to helping patients achieve the best possible level of independence and wellbeing following illness or injury. We work collaboratively across nursing, medical, and allied health disciplines to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services that support positive patient outcomes. Based in Hastings, you'll join a highly skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to providing exceptional care for older people and those requiring rehabilitation services. About you As a Specialty Clinical Nurse, you will be an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse with a passion for rehabilitation, older persons' health, and delivering outstanding patient care. Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Postgraduate nursing qualification, or working towards completion of postgraduate study. At least five years' clinical nursing experience, including experience in medical nursing, rehabilitation, gerontology, or older persons' health. Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with patients, whānau, and colleagues. Strong communication, problem-solving, clinical assessment, and care planning skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
