About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join the Nursing Workforce Development Team in this permanent part-time position. Working in partnership with the Nursing Workforce Development Manager, Chief of Nursing and Directors of Nursing, you will contribute to implementing Health New Zealand's nursing workforce direction and workplan. The primary focus of this role is leading the project management and delivery of specialist nursing initiatives that strengthen the nursing workforce across Health New Zealand, Waitaha Canterbury. A key priority will be supporting the implementation of the Fundamentals of Nursing Care programme while leading initiatives that improve nursing capability, promote innovation and enhance quality patient care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing change, managing projects, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering programmes that have lasting impact on the nursing workforce. About the Service The Nursing Workforce Development team is committed to strengthening and growing the nursing workforce across Waitaha Canterbury. The team leads a wide range of initiatives that support nurses throughout their careers, including: Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) RN and EN Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) and Nursing Ākonga Clinical Placement Facilitation Clinical simulation and postgraduate education Nursing research and specialist nursing projects Nursing recruitment initiatives Aged Residential Care workforce liaison Operations within the Manawa Building The team works closely with nursing leaders, education providers and healthcare partners to support professional development, research, innovation and excellence in nursing practice. About You You are an experienced registered nurse who is passionate about workforce development, quality improvement and leading meaningful change. You bring strong project management skills, thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to supporting excellence in nursing practice. Tobe successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading change and service quality improvement initiatives 5+ years Nursing experience Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills Passion for nursing workforce development and career promotion HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
