Start here: Discover your career with Foodstuffs North Island About the role As a Merchandise Productivity Intern, you’ll be part of the Merchandise team, supporting productivity improvements using AI and automation. This role focuses on identifying opportunities to streamline processes and build practical solutions that enhance how teams work. Key responsibilities Identify opportunities to improve productivity through AI and automation. Support the development of tools, agents, or apps to streamline processes. Assist with process mapping and identifying inefficiencies across workflows. Help run workshops or training sessions to upskill teams. About you You’re currently studying towards, or have recently completed, a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data/Business Analytics, or a related field. You’re passionate about AI and interested in applying it to real‑world business challenges. You’re a strong problem solver, confident working with data, and comfortable taking initiative in ambiguous situations. Experience with data analysis, visualisation tools, or AI platforms (such as Copilot) is beneficial. We’re looking for someone who is interested in discovering their career with us. You’ll have a curiosity to learn, a knack for problem solving, and be ready to get stuck in to making a positive impact on New Zealand communities. You’ll ideally be interested in one of the above areas listed and, in our application form, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate your preferred roles (you don’t necessarily need to be studying something that is aligned).
