Assistant Accountant

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our Retail & Water Finance team. As a full‑time permanent Assistant Accountant based in Christchurch, you will: Provide a range of technical accounting support to assist business performance. Prepare accurate financial analysis and reporting for key stakeholders. Assist with monthly and annual accounting processes. Support the Finance Business Partner in building financial acumen with Business Leaders. To be successful in this role you will need: An appropriate tertiary degree or accounting qualification is desirable. 1–3 years of practical accounting experience. Previous experience and competence in the use of computer systems including Microsoft Office products, ERP systems (e.g. D365, JD Edwards, SAP), and financial management tools (e.g. Oracle EPM). Advanced Excel skills would be an advantage. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively. A positive, results‑oriented approach to tasks and responsibilities. Based in Christchurch, adjacent to the airport, you will enjoy all the benefits of our modern offices including complimentary car parking. This is a full‑time role (40 hours, Monday to Friday), but we're flexible whether you prefer an earlier or later start, and ad hoc flexibility on working from home or in the office.
