Working closely with the Maintenance and Underground Operations teams, you'll be responsible for preventative maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repairs and the installation of electrical equipment across underground infrastructure and mining plant. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain and repair underground electrical infrastructure and equipment Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on underground mining equipment and fixed plant Maintain underground power distribution, substations and reticulation systems Carry out electrical inspections, testing and commissioning Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately Work closely with Underground Operations and Maintenance teams Ensure compliance with electrical standards and site procedures Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the operation About You To be successful in this role, you'll bring: Trade qualification as an Electrician Current Electrical Registration (or ability to obtain New Zealand registration) Previous experience in industrial, mining or heavy process plant electrical maintenance Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills Experience working with motors, drives, switchgear, PLCs and control systems Current Driver Licence Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance Excellent communication and teamwork skills Desirable Previous experience as an Underground Electrician in a hard‑rock mining environment Experience within underground gold or metalliferous mining operations High Voltage switching experience Current First Aid Certificate Additional underground mining qualifications and certifications Experience with instrumentation and automation systems Build Your Future Here Opportunities to join a mining operation at this stage are rare.
