Ideally located in international cities, our hostels offer an experience for travellers AND locals (rooftops, restaurants, bars, events, designer rooms at affordable prices). Each JO&JOE is unique, with a community rooted in neighbourhood life. We believe that travelling is not about affordability, but about being open‑minded and wanting to meet new people. We're just waiting for you. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion: JO&JOE is an inclusive company, and our ambition is to recruit and promote diverse talent. Our adverts are gender‑neutral; the masculine gender is used here to simplify the text. Job Description The Night Auditor will be responsible for welcoming overnight guests, completing nightly audit and reporting tasks, overseeing the property after management has left for the day, and maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment throughout the night. The role also supports overnight cleaning activities within the hostel and public areas, ensuring JO&JOE Auckland is ready to welcome guests late into the night and each morning! A mix of guest service, operations and hands‑on responsibility – no two nights are ever the same. To take responsibility for the property overnight, ensuring the safety and security of guests, Heartists and hotel assets while acting as the main point of contact after management has left for the day. To manage guest enquiries, reservations, telephone calls, complaints and service recovery, anticipating guest needs and resolving issues efficiently and professionally. To promote JO&JOE's services, events, facilities and loyalty programme, while identifying opportunities to maximise revenue and enhance the guest experience. To complete the night audit process, including financial reconciliation, invoicing, cash handling, reporting and communication of operational requirements for the following day. To maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout all public areas, including reception, shared spaces, corridors, bathrooms and other guest‑facing facilities. To complete overnight cleaning tasks and support housekeeping requirements, ensuring the property is guest‑ready each morning. To identify, report and follow up on maintenance, housekeeping and safety concerns, taking appropriate action where possible to minimise operational disruptions. To support broader hostel operations and, when required, act as Night Manager during leave or rostered days off, gaining leadership experience and receiving the applicable higher duties rate while performing the role. Whether it's guest service, hostel operations, cleanliness or safety, you take pride in delivering great experiences every day. You're flexible and ready for adventure.
