The Role Job ID: X9Q7K We are seeking a reliable and experienced 2IC Cleaner to support the Site Supervisor and assist in leading our cleaning team at Westfield Riccarton, Christchurch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation. The successful candidate will act as the second-in-charge (2IC) and provide supervision and leadership support, particularly on Thursdays and Fridays when the Site Supervisor is off duty. Part-time Position Available. With Shifts As Follows Monday-Wednesday 8:00PM-1:30AM Thursday-Friday 9:30PM-3:00AM Hourly rate: $24.25 Key Responsibilities Support the Site Supervisor in leading and coordinating a small cleaning team. Act as the on-site supervisor on Thursdays and Fridays. Assist with task scheduling to ensure deadlines and service levels are achieved. Prioritize and allocate cleaning duties effectively. Conduct spot checks and monitor quality standards. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members. Participate in daily cleaning operations and lead by example. Ensure site KPIs and client expectations are met. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and company procedures. Monitor and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies. Respond professionally to client requests and feedback. Assist with roster management and provide shift coverage when required. Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. Take immediate and appropriate action when hazards or incidents occur. Assist with stock ordering, toolbox talks, and team communications. About You Previous commercial cleaning experience is essential. Experience in a 2IC, team leader, supervisory, or senior cleaner position is preferred. Strong detail-cleaning and machine operation skills. Available and willing to work night shifts. Comfortable taking responsibility for site supervision on Thursdays and Fridays. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Good client relationship and stakeholder management skills. Ability to train, mentor, and support team members. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures. Basic computer and mobile application skills. Experience with roster management, stock ordering, and toolbox training is advantageous.
