Job Description
Registered Nurses – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: Starship Child Health, Auckland City Hospital Level 9 (directly across from the National Women’s labour and delivery suite). Position: Full-time or Part-time. The NICU is a 40‑cot unit consisting of 18 intensive care and 22 high dependency cots. It cares for babies born premature from 23 weeks gestation and serves as the referral centre for paediatric cardiology services, neonatal surgery, and complex metabolic disease treatment. The unit receives around 900 infants annually from the hospital’s approximately 7,500 deliveries each year. About the Role The NICU seeks registered nurses with neonatal experience to join an active team providing premium neonatal care to the populations served. About You Registered nurse and either currently registered or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council. Neonatal nursing background with at least 2+ years of acute setting experience. Focus on the wellbeing of tamariki and whānau. Demonstrated good communication, critical thinking skills and commitment to family‑centred care. Passion for or desire to develop child health nursing skills.
