Operations Manager Aztech Buildings (And Futura) | Cambridge, Waikato Lead operations for one of NZ's fastest-growing steel building manufacturers Aztech Buildings is a New Zealand-owned company leading the way in innovative steel building systems, known to the market through our brands Aztech & Futura. Based in Cambridge, we design, manufacture and deliver high-quality commercial, agricultural, and residential buildings solutions – and we're growing fast. We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day operations, lead our Projects and Production teams, and help shape the systems and culture that will carry us through our next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a genuine leadership role with real influence over how the business runs. About the Role This role sits at the centre of the business, turning the promises our sales team makes into reality on the ground. You'll take full ownership of operational delivery – production / manufacturing, projects, supply chain, and people – while working closely with the General Manager and ownership team to drive efficiency, accountability, and sustainable growth. What You'll Be Doing Operational Leadership & Efficiency Own day-to-day operations across Projects and Production, ensuring smooth workflow, resourcing, and on‑time delivery. Own Customer Satisfaction as a key driver to create raving fans. Identify and implement process improvements that lift productivity and reduce cost. Strengthen supply chain performance, working closely with suppliers and logistics partners to improve buying power and reliability. Maintain rigorous health & safety and quality standards across all operations. Team Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and develop the operations team, building a culture of accountability and high performance. Own recruitment, onboarding, and performance management within your department. Champion the company's values and foster a positive, engaged workplace. Strategy & Financial Performance Partner with the General Manager and owners to align operational strategy with business goals. Take responsibility for departmental budgets, financial performance, and reporting against KPIs. Use data and reporting to track performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Proven operations leader – senior management experience in manufacturing, construction, logistics, or production, with a track record of running efficient, high‑performing teams. Commercially sharp – comfortable owning budgets, P&L input, and financial reporting, with a strategic, growth‑minded outlook. A builder of teams – strong people leadership, coaching, and communication skills that get the best out of a cross‑functional team. Process‑driven – skilled at designing and refining workflows, with a proactive, solutions‑first approach to problems. Tech‑savvy – confident working with ERP, CRM, or workflow management systems. Qualified – tertiary qualification in Business, Manufacturing Management, or a related field is preferred; an MBA or similar is a bonus. Why Join Aztech Buildings?
