Grounded in the dual Special Character of Te Hāhi Katorika and Te Ao Māori, we seek a deputy principal to join our Rōpū Kaiārahi (senior leadership team), commencing immediately or by negotiation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educational leader to strengthen teaching and learning while improving student achievement and wellbeing. The successful applicant will: Demonstrate a sound understanding of NCEA, NZQA requirements and the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. Demonstrate a commitment to Te Ao Māori. Confidence in te reo Māori and an understanding of tikanga Māori and culturally responsive practice would be an advantage. Be an innovative and strategic leader with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Use student achievement data to drive continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with students, staff, whānau and the wider community. Capabilities to assist in planning and organising the courses and programmes at the school to ensure they reflect the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment.
