ASB Corporate Banking is the primary face to the market for complex financing and relationship management within the Bank's Corporate client segment.
\nWe aspire to be the trusted advisor for New Zealand businesses, delivering innovative banking solutions, exceptional service, and deep market insights. Our goal is to foster growth and create outstanding customer experiences. Due to continued growth, we are seeking four highly experienced Client Directors to join our team on a permanent basis. Three opportunities are based in Auckland, while one opportunity is based outside of Auckland.
\nIn this senior role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of large, complex corporate clients and acquiring new-to-bank relationships. You will be a confident and compelling communicator, engaging directly with CEOs, CFOs, and Boards of Directors. Your ability to provide strategic advice and solutions will be crucial to your success. You will role model best-in‑class relationship management, leveraging your strong technical expertise and presentation skills to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders. Working closely with internal product teams and external advisers, you will adopt a "OneTeam" approach to exceed customer expectations, foster customer advocacy, and elevate ASB's profile within the NZ corporate market.
\nYour focus will be on originating and executing high-value new business opportunities, demonstrating deep market knowledge of the New Zealand corporate and institutional banking space.
\nAs a leader, you will manage and develop a team comprising an Associate Client Director and a Senior Analyst. Your leadership will be instrumental in their professional growth and in maintaining a high-performance team environment. Given the seniority and relationship-focused nature of this role, your in-office presence will be essential to effectively manage your team and strengthen client relationships. However, in line with ASB's policy, there is a level of flexibility available.
\nTo be successful in the role, you will have a proven track record in corporate or institutional banking, with strong technical capabilities and market knowledge. Exceptional presentation skills and confidence when engaging with senior executives and boards are essential. You should be a well-rounded strategic thinker, with a broad understanding of the NZ market. A strong network within the NZ corporate and institutional banking community will be highly beneficial. You will demonstrate leadership qualities, a results-driven mindset, and strategic thinking—creating value for clients through innovative solutions, negotiations, and high-level advice. Professionalism, confidence, and polished communication skills are a must.
