Senior academics also provide mentorship to colleagues in both research and teaching. Selection criteria sought are: (Lecturers/Senior Lecturers) Qualification A PhD or nearing completion in a field related to physiotherapy. Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand. A current Annual Practising Certificate (or eligibility for an Annual Practising Certificate). Clinical expertise in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Research An early‑career academic will have the basis of a solid research pipeline. More experienced candidates will already have a more established research profile and a proven research track record with quality publications and ideally success in external funding bids. Evidence of proactively pursuing external research income is desirable. (Lecturers) Evidence of securing or contributing to external research income is desirable. (Senior Lecturers) Teaching An early career academic will ideally have at least some previous teaching experience. More experienced candidates will have previous lecturing experience, evidence of course/programme or curriculum development and preferably experience supervising Masters and/or PhD students. Research And Scholarship Significant experience leading and driving research initiatives in a field related to physiotherapy, with a strong track record of research outputs, including publications. Experience with successful external research grant applications if appropriate to your field. Proven experience establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with peers in related fields, both within the University and across external academic institutions, industry and professional bodies. Appointments to editorial review boards of reputable journals, editorship/guest editorship experience and/or conference track chairing. Evidence of securing external research income is desirable. Teaching And Learning Significant undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing experience in undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy (including course design, preparation and delivery of lectures, practical sessions, tutorials as well as paper coordination). Ability to contribute to the growth and review of an innovative curriculum and development of high‑quality course content, including integration of emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to attract postgraduate students and a track record of supervising postgraduate students to completion. Citizenship And Service Experience supporting Indigenous, equity or inclusion‑focused initiatives, with the capability to support the AUT’s Te Aronui Framework. Demonstrated academic leadership and service – either internally or externally. Experience engaging internationally with industry, government and community stakeholders to translate and apply research. Proven ability to communicate research to non‑academic audiences, including through media engagement.
