Job Description
Occupational Therapist – Community Mental Health Unit, Central Lakes Permanent 1.0 FTE (40hrs per week) opportunity Salary: $79,014 - $110,290 (pro rata) About the role This position is suited to an experienced clinician or a motivated new graduate with a passion for mental health and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Based with the Central Lakes Mental Health Team at Dunstan Hospital, the Occupational Therapist delivers high‑quality, recovery‑focused care to adults with moderate to severe mental health needs across the Central Otago region. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the role involves: Completing comprehensive assessments Delivering therapeutic interventions Supporting transition planning Applying best‑practice approaches aligned with the Let's Get Real framework Additional responsibilities include fulfilling the duties of a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) and participation in an after‑hours crisis/on‑call roster, requiring resilience, adaptability, and sound clinical judgement within a supportive team environment. About you You are a self‑motivated, efficient and productive person with excellent time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy caseload, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a can‑do attitude.
