Registered Nurse, Module 8 & 9

Registered Nurse – General Surgery Outpatient Clinics Full-time or part-time roles (Regular Monday–Friday, 8‑hour shifts) with occasional extension to support clinic demands. Schedule flexibly within 8:00am‑5:30pm. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care in a general surgery outpatient setting. Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the pre‑admission clinic, educate patients and whānau about surgical journey and plan of care. Co‑ordinate pre‑operative requirements and identify and escalated clinical risks. Independently manage complex wound care and dressing changes, ensuring safe and efficient treatment. Collaborate with general surgeons, trainee doctors, nurse specialists, and support staff to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Essential Criteria NewZealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate. Minimum of five years experience in a general surgical environment. Demonstrated proficiency in wound management. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work autonomously and adapt within changing clinical settings.
