HealthCare Assistant – Casual Pool We are recruiting for a Health Care Assistant in the Casual Pool at Wairau Hospital. Role Overview Shifts are Monday to Sunday, covering AM, PM, Afternoon, and Night. The duties include assisting nursing staff in care delivery, providing one‑to‑one patient watches, and completing other tasks as directed. About You We are looking for people with: A mature outlook and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people. Excellent communication skills. The flexibility and methodical approach required for time‑sensitive care work. Honesty, reliability, and the ability to use appropriate initiative. Experience within the health sector is preferred; full orientation will be provided. Qualifications Year 11 NCEA Level 1 English (or equivalent) Year 11 NCEA Level 1 Maths (or equivalent) NZQA Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) Desirable: Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent) Mandatory: NZQA Level 3 – New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Health Assistance).
