Laboratory Manager Permanent, Full-time – Taranaki About the Role We’re looking for a Laboratory Manager to lead our Taranaki laboratory and support the delivery of diagnostic services for our patients and customers. Working closely with the General Manager and wider regional team, you’ll play a key role in overseeing laboratory operations. You’ll support and develop your team while driving a culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Taranaki laboratory, ensuring quality, efficient, and cost‑effective diagnostic services. Lead, support, and develop the laboratory team to deliver exceptional service. Ensure compliance with accreditation, quality, contractual, and health and safety requirements. Work collaboratively with the General Manager and regional teams to achieve operational goals and continuous improvement. Support projects and initiatives that enhance laboratory services and improve ways of working. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation, and professional development. About You Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. A current Annual Practising Certificate is preferred. A tertiary qualification in a clinical, scientific, or health‑related field. Experience working within a diagnostic laboratory environment, with an understanding of laboratory operations, quality systems, and accreditation requirements. Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to support, motivate, and develop a team. Experience contributing to laboratory operations, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong commitment to quality, patient care, health and safety, and delivering exceptional service. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills. Eligibility to work in New Zealand. If you do not yet have your Annual Practising Certificate (APC), we will also consider candidates who are in the process of renewing their APC.
