Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora – Auckland City Hospital. We offer a Full‑time, on‑site Clinical Nurse Specialist position within a modern tertiary hospital. This role provides opportunities for career growth and requires advanced nursing practice and leadership skills. About the Role The HBP CNS is an advanced nursing practice role that encompasses responsibility and coordination of nursing care for the Hepatobiliary patient group across primary, secondary and tertiary care settings both locally and regionally. This includes professional and clinical leadership, patient care coordination, education, and clinical teaching to patients, whanau and staff. Responsibilities Provide care coordination and ensure patients receive timely interventions. Act as the primary point of contact for patients and the multidisciplinary team. Support patients, whanau, nursing, and medical staff on wards and refer appropriately to the multidisciplinary team. Organise family meetings as required and assist with discharge planning. Communicate care plans to patients, whanau, team members, and local DHBs. Deliver clinical teaching and education to staff. Work autonomously within a supportive senior nursing team. Qualifications At least 3–5 years of post‑graduate experience, preferably in General Surgery. Post‑graduate certificate or diploma in specialty nursing practice (or equivalent). Working towards completion of a Masters degree in nursing or a health‑related area. Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Proficiency in PDRP or supported pathway practice. Excellent supervisory, communication and problem‑solving skills. Ability to interact effectively with a multidisciplinary team and maintain safe cultural practice.
