Service Leader Academic Advice and Information Student Achievement | Massey University Fixed term full time (1 FTE) ending 30 July 2027 Location - Manawatū Campus Salary band - $83,818 - $117,788 based on skills and experience Massey University is seeking a skilled and values-driven Service Leader, Academic Advice and Information, to lead a high-performing advisory team on its Manawatū campus. This pivotal role is ideal for a collaborative leader who excels at developing people, fostering strong service cultures, and using data and insights to drive improvements for students. About the role As Service Leader, you will lead a team delivering high-quality, responsive academic advice and information services to prospective and current students. Working closely with the Associate Director Student Achievement and Service Leaders across campuses, you will ensure services are consistent, compliant, and aligned with university priorities. The role centres on people leadership and service performance, supporting team capability and wellbeing, leading through change, and using service data to inform planning and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop Academic Advisors and Student Services Liaison Advisors Build an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing team culture focused on wellbeing and service excellence Monitor service performance and use data to drive improvement and accountability Ensure students receive accurate, timely academic advice and effective referral pathways Collaborate with Service Leaders and key university stakeholders across campuses Support service planning, process improvement, and operational governance Qualifications and experience required Relevant tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree or higher) 5 years minimum proven leadership and management experience within a complex environment Strong coaching, performance leadership and people management capability Experience using data and insights to improve services and outcomes Knowledge of academic advising or student services (tertiary education preferred) Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills A demonstrated commitment to equity, accessibility, and inclusive practice, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi Desired skills and experience People Leadership Team Management Coaching & Mentoring Performance Management Service Leadership Student Services Academic Advising Stakeholder Engagement Change Management Continuous Improvement Service Excellence Operational Leadership Data Analysis Data‑Informed Decision Making Service Performance Monitoring Relationship Management Higher Education Process Improvement Staff Development Customer Service Leadership Strategic Planning Problem Solving Communication Skills Equity & Inclusion Governance & Compliance Cross‑Functional Collaboration Wellbeing Leadership Student Success Tertiary Education Applications close Tuesday 28 July 2026, 11.00 pm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
