Northland, New Zealand based in Whangarei, working primarily at Tuia Te Ora (community-based health facilities). This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) providing regular coverage at peripheral hospitals including Bay of Islands, Kaitaia and Dargaville. About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Physiologist (Respiratory) to join our dynamic physiologist-led team. In this role, the clinical physiologist will use specialised equipment, including a plethysmography booth, to perform comprehensive pulmonary function tests that measure lung volumes and airflow dynamics, assisting in the diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases. You will work closely with respiratory physicians and other healthcare providers to develop treatment plans, which may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, therapy, or medication. The role of Clinical Physiologist (Respiratory) is an allied health, scientific and technical professional who has formally demonstrated an ability to apply expert clinical competence to a highly advanced level of complexity. The role is crucial in improving patients’ respiratory health, quality and overall wellbeing by providing evidence-based insights into respiratory-related issues. About the Team / Service / Location A team of four physiologists and two sleep assistants work closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to provide high-quality care for our patients. This service is based primarily at Tuia Te Ora (beautifully appointed community-based health facilities) with some travel to our rural locations (Bay of Islands, Kaitaia and Dargaville). About you Registration as a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with the NZ Clinical Physiologists Registration Board or work towards gaining registration. Minimum 2‑years post-qualification experience with demonstrated ability to perform all core pulmonary diagnostic tests. Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel.
