The role | Te tūnga As a Human Resources Advisor, you will partner closely with leaders to provide high‑quality, practical HR advice across a broad range of people matters, including employment relations. You will work with a level of autonomy, applying sound judgement and offering balanced, solutions‑focused guidance to support effective decision‑making. You will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving environment, managing competing priorities and supporting leaders through day‑to‑day HR challenges. This includes contributing to employment relations case management, coaching leaders, and identifying opportunities to improve people practices. Building strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders will be key, along with influencing outcomes through clear and pragmatic advice. You will also contribute to core HR priorities, support team initiatives, and help build people leadership capability across the organisation. This is a fixed term position through to the end of December with an appointing range of $81,665 - $101,627. What you bring | Nōu te rourou Proven experience in an HR generalist role, with the ability to support a wide range of people matters across the employee lifecycle Sound employment relations knowledge, including experience supporting ER cases Ability to provide practical, high‑quality HR advice, applying sound judgement with appropriate guidance and support Confidence to coach and influence leaders, providing clear and constructive advice Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, managing competing priorities Clear and effective communication skills, including in sensitive or challenging situations For you | Mōu At the Department of Internal Affairs, we are committed to offering a collaborative and innovative culture where your perspective and ideas will be welcomed.
