Job Description
We're looking for a compassionate, reliable and proactive Support Worker to join our team. About the Role Looking for a role that works around your life? Whether you’re balancing study, family, or other commitments, we may be able to accommodate your availability based on the care needs in our community. Each Tangata will have high‑risk individual care requirements, and you will support them with all elements of daily living such as palliative care, bowel care, dementia care, mental health support, and medication management. You will provide safe, respectful, and person‑centred support in people’s homes, being mindful of what matters to them, including their culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries. Training and Development We provide practical and online training during the first few weeks of employment, with added bonus of year‑round training, regular refreshers and new modules to keep skills up to date. You’ll be supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways. Qualifications & Experience The following skills and experience may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to: Love working with people and helping them thrive Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs Own a smartphone Have the right to work in New Zealand Full driver’s licence Some client needs require Support Workers who hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification to ensure safe and appropriate care.
