As a Chef , you will prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals while ensuring exceptional food safety, hygiene, and service standards. Working within a busy Defence environment, you'll play a key role in delivering nutritious, well‑presented meals and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen. This is a Permanent Full Time position. Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and present quality meals in line with menu and operational requirements. Assist with menu planning, including catering for special dietary and cultural requirements. Manage food quality, stock rotation, food storage, and wastage control procedures. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness. Support, coach, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver excellent service outcomes. NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) and previous commercial cooking experience. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Reliable, hardworking, physically fit, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment. Passionate about food quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Ability to pass pre‑employment checks satisfactorily. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
