Job Description
Overview Based in the Waikato District, this casual Allied Health position requires a NewZealand registered Physiotherapist to join our growing, dynamic team. The role involves physiotherapy practice in outpatient, community, and rural settings, with opportunities to work in women’s health, musculoskeletal, respiratory, pain, strength and balance, and community services as needed. There may be coverage required during school holiday periods, public holidays, and weekends. This is a purely clinical position with no expectation of quality projects or participation in meetings. You will be notified of the cover needed and expected to pick up a caseload, prioritise using our national priority criteria, and see patients for new assessments or progressions of their programmes. Key Responsibilities Effectively prioritise, manage, delegate, and see an appropriate caseload of patients. Accurately make decisions about the appropriate physiotherapy care and discharge pathways for the patients that you see. Document clinical encounters in accordance with our documentation standards and log your time in our patient statistics software. Demonstrate professional attitude and commitment to the team, practising within your scope of practice and ensuring effective communication occurs at all levels to achieve service objectives. About the Team / Service The Physiotherapy Service includes over one hundred staff, including physiotherapists, assistants, and administrators, working across the large geographical area of the Waikato region. Staff are based at Waikato Hospital, the secondary hospital in Thames, and three rural hospitals in Tokoroa, TeKuiti, and Taumarunui, as well as numerous community bases in Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngāruawāhia. About You 5years+ of physiotherapy experience. Confidence in acute settings. Physically and mentally strong, able to work under pressure, be flexible and adaptable. Proven ability to prioritise effectively and manage your time. Dynamic team player who prioritises the team, communicates openly, is transparent, and takes your share of the caseload and delegates appropriately.
