About the Role As the National Prevention Screening Quality Manager, you will provide national leadership for quality across Health New Zealand's prevention screening programmes. Reporting to the Director, Prevention – Screening, you will lead the development and implementation of quality assurance, quality improvement, and governance frameworks that ensure screening services are safe, effective, evidence-based, and equitable. This role is responsible for strengthening quality systems, setting and monitoring performance standards, and embedding robust assurance processes that support transparency, consistency, and continuous improvement across the screening pathway. Working closely with clinical leaders, programme teams, providers, and key stakeholders, you will drive a culture of learning and innovation, using data, evidence, and best practice to improve outcomes for all New Zealanders. You will oversee risk management, incident response, and participant safety systems while ensuring programmes align with Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and the goals of Pae Ora. About you You will be an experienced health quality, screening, or service improvement leader with a strong track record of developing and implementing quality assurance and continuous improvement frameworks in complex healthcare environments. You bring the ability to lead through influence, drive meaningful change, and build trusted relationships across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders, while maintaining a focus on safety, evidence-based practice, and programme performance. Key attributes include: Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent senior-level experience in quality, health management, or a related field. Proven experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, risk management, and governance. Experience working within complex health systems and managing change in dynamic environments. Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse groups. A strategic mindset, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
