About the Role As a Public Health Nurse, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community with a strong focus on improving immunisation coverage. Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence-based public health nursing practice. About the Service The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. About you As a successful candidate, you will show and understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role. You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach – try new approaches, learn quickly, adapt fast. You can utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to the top of scope. Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate An ongoing commitment to professional development A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for underserved whānau and communities Be prepared to work towards, or already be, a whole-of-life authorised vaccinator Demonstrated competence in the application of Māori health models to Nursing practice Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
