Job Description
The Lecturer – Bachelor of Teaching, Early Childhood Education (BTECE) is a permanent position based in Tairāwhiti within our School of Education, Social Sciences and Veterinary Nursing, reporting to the Head of School. This role prepares future Early Childhood Education teachers through quality teaching, curriculum development, student assessment and learner support. The position offers part‑time arrangements of 0.4 FTE to 0.9 FTE depending on candidate availability and suitability. Appointing salary will be between $84,793 and $89,639, pro‑rated to FTE, dependent on skills and experience. Responsibilities Preparing, reviewing and delivering curriculum and learning resources for the Bachelor of Teaching, Early Childhood Education programme. Facilitating engaging learning experiences that support student success across a variety of delivery modes. Assessing student achievement, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate academic records. Supporting student wellbeing and success through effective learner guidance and pastoral care. Contributing to programme development, continuous improvement initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities. Qualifications and Experience Recent experience in Early Childhood Education teaching practice. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of current Early Childhood Education teaching approaches. Tertiary teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum development highly desirable. Experience delivering learning across a range of modes, including face‑to‑face and online environments. Experience using educational technologies and learning management systems to support teaching and learning.
