About the Role Slalom’s Data Engineering capability injects organizational intelligence and builds world-class environments by engineering innovative data solutions that support learning and insight. To maximize asset value and align with business objectives, they design scalable, future-proof foundations using modern data platforms, comprehensive data strategies, and specialized storage technologies. Furthermore, they enable immediate action and automated decision-making through real-time streaming solutions and embedded machine learning, all while implementing strict DataOps methodologies and engineering best practices to guarantee reliable, high-quality data delivery. What you’ll do As a Senior Engineer, Data, your key responsibilities would include, but are not limited to: Design and deliver innovative solutions on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using core cloud data warehouse tools, distributed processing engines, event streaming platforms, and other modern data technologies. In addition to building the next generation of data platforms, you will be working with some of the most forward-thinking organisations in data and analytics. This includes working closely with prospective clients, discuss their needs and shape projects into a team-based delivery model. Contributing to the analysis, architecture, design, and development of data solutions including defining the cloud data strategy and multi-phased implementation roadmap for your clients. Having the opportunity to assist business development teams with pre-sales activities, including helping estimate and plan projects and be expected to actively contribute to the cloud and data community at Slalom, and drive new capabilities forward. What you’ll bring As a Senior Engineer in the Data Engineering capability, you will bring a curious mindset to your client’s engagement, a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for fearless experimentation in new and interesting ways to meet our clients’ most pressing data challenges. You are self-starter, effective in breaking down large problems into smaller ones, and eager to regularly share what you learn with others within your projects and in the broader Slalom Build community. You will have a passion for continuous learning and professional growth, with strong hands‑on experience in modern data architecture and engineering. While we don’t expect expertise across all technologies, you may have knowledge in several key areas from the following range of technologies we help our clients with: Modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks). Data‑related cloud architecture on major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) including implementation patterns and best practices. Streaming and event‑driven architectures. Modern data workflow tools (e.g. dbt, Apache Airflow, Dagster, Prefect). AI / MLOps (advantageous, though not essential). Our Values Our culture and values reflect each individual Slalomer.
