Junior Accountant

Overview ATS Chartered Accountant is a growing accounting and business advisory firm based in New Zealand. We provide accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory services to a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses across New Zealand. As our client base continues to expand, particularly among Mandarin-speaking business owners, we are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our professional team. The applicant is required to work minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours a week. Responsibilities Preparing financial statements and management reports Prepare GST returns, income tax returns and other tax compliance work Process bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and payroll if required Month-end and year-end accounting procedures Liaise with clients regarding accounting and taxation matters Maintain accurate accounting records using cloud accounting software Support senior accountants on various client engagements Provide timely administrative support to the accounting team Skills and Experience / Qualifications A Bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in Accounting or a closely related discipline Knowledge of New Zealand accounting principles and taxation requirements Strong analytical and numerical skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software would be an advantage Language Requirement As a significant proportion of our clients are Mandarin-speaking business owners, the successful applicant should be able to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin to assist with client enquiries, explain financial information, and provide ongoing accounting support.
