Associate Professor in Behavioural Information Systems Full-time Campus: Auckland City Campus Position Number: 60000487 Department: Info Systems & Operations Management The University of Auckland Business School is looking to appoint a research‑active Associate Professor in Behavioural Information Systems. Candidates should have emerging research interests in behavioural IS, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital sustainability, and related areas. No preference on methodology; diverse research traditions are welcomed. We seek a candidate with an established international reputation and a strong, sustained research portfolio. This should include high‑quality publications in leading IS journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, or Journal of the Association for Information Systems, as well as a broader portfolio across the basket of 11 journals. Active participation in leading IS conferences and a track record of attracting competitive research funding are also expected. The successful appointee will contribute to a collaborative research environment, supervise postgraduate research students (particularly PhD candidates), and engage in collaborative research initiatives. In addition to research, you will deliver an exceptional learning experience for students. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Information Systems—topics such as systems analysis and design, data analytics, digital transformation, enterprise systems, and emerging domains. You will integrate contemporary research and industry practice into the curriculum, fostering rigorous, relevant, and responsive teaching. Demonstrated strong teaching and curriculum development, with innovative pedagogical approaches—student‑centred learning, active learning strategies, and blended delivery—is expected. All candidates will contribute service and citizenship within and beyond the University, actively participating in departmental, faculty, and university committees and activities. The position is full‑time (40 hours per week), permanent, and subject to continuation. Remuneration is NZ$165,808 per annum, depending on experience and achievements, aligned with our Academic Standards policy. Qualifications PhD in a relevant discipline. Experience successfully delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Proven publication track record in top IS journals (MISQ, ISR, JMIS, JAIS) and other basket‑11 outlets. Proven track record of attracting funding from internal and external reputable schemes. Proven track record of designing curriculum (part or entire programme). Proven track record of supervising graduate students’ research (PhDs and Masters).
