Full time, permanent position Join our leading tertiary centre delivering advanced nuclear medicine Collaborate within our supportive multidisciplinary team We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Nuclear Medicine Physician to join our growing team at Waikato Hospital, a major tertiary referral centre serving the central North Island. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) with Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) (or equivalent recognised qualifications) to contribute to a growing service delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. About the Role You will provide specialist diagnostic and therapeutic services using advanced molecular imaging techniques, including PET and SPECT. You will be responsible for reporting and interpreting scans across a broad clinical spectrum such as oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, and neurology, and will actively contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings to support optimal patient outcomes. The role also includes radionuclide therapy, ensuring safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals, and providing guidance for technical and clinical staff within the department. Waikato Hospital offers a modern, well-equipped Nuclear Medicine service, with strong collegial relationships across specialties. You will be part of a supportive wider Radiology team committed to continuous quality improvement, teaching, and service development.
