Job Description

Garden of York in Levin is a retail store providing quality, fresh fruit and vegetables to the local community. We are looking for a supervisor to support our day-to-day financial operations. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 30-40 hours per week. Key Duties Maintaining financial records of daily sales, supplier purchases, and business transactions Managing accounts payable and receivable, including processing supplier invoices and tracking customer payments Preparing invoices, purchase orders, and recording bank deposits from daily takings Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded Monitoring cash flow, including daily sales income and outgoing payments to suppliers, to support business operations Assisting with payroll processing and maintaining wage records for staff Preparing financial reports, including basic profit and loss summaries, budgets, and expense tracking reports for management Reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and identifying any discrepancies or irregularities for management attention Supporting stock-related financial tracking, including matching supplier invoices with delivered goods where required Preparing and assisting with GST returns and ensuring compliance with New Zealand tax obligations Requirements At least 2 years of relevant work experience in retail industry, OR A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above (Relevant fields include, but are not limited to: business management or related fields.) Strong attention to detail and organisational skills The ability to work independently as well as part of a team Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information Experience in retail or small business operations is an advantage Applicants must have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa with unlimited work rights.
