Principal Advisor, Process and Performance Closing date: 02 Aug 2026 17:00 | WorkType: Permanent full-time | Salary range: 105,748 - 142,814 We are seeking an experienced Principal Adviser to join our Strategic Planning and Performance team. We have recently developed our new vision and strategy – seeking to position Pharmac as a more outward‑focussed, collaborative, and transparent organisation that values and actively engages with patients, consumers, and stakeholders. In this rewarding and challenging role, you will lead the design of fit‑for‑purpose business process and continuous improvement initiatives at Pharmac, while maintaining an enterprise view across our end‑to‑end process architecture. Working closely with our new Programme Delivery Office, you will be at the core of Pharmac's transformation and play a key role in influencing the design of new ways of working, with patients and consumers at the centre. The role will see you engaging with and working alongside a wide range of subject‑matter experts to assess and design new business processes, to ultimately drive better value for our patients and consumers. You will support how work flows from start to finish, helping to ensure that changes from programmes and projects fit together and work as a complete system. The salary range for this position is $105,748 – $142,814. Most new starters are typically appointed up to the midpoint of the range, depending on the knowledge, skills and experience they bring to the role. You will act as an expert internal consultant across the organisation to support our programme for improvement. Our ideal candidate would have: Strong expertise in process re‑design, optimisation, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience in business process management at an enterprise level – supporting how work flows from start to finish Change management experience – with the ability to ensure that changes from programmes and projects fit together and work as a system Familiarity with systems and data, including planning for and implementing emerging technologies such as AI Excellent relationship management skills Demonstrated collaboration skills and experience working with cross‑functional teams Ability to think and advise at a strategic and enterprise level Strong critical thinking and analytical skillset Be a champion of process design Experience in coaching people leaders and subject‑matter experts on continuous improvement methodology Experience in coaching and mentoring developing peers.
