Date advertised: 8 Jul 2026. Job Type: Fixed Term. Location: Wellington, NZ. About this role We are looking for curriculum specialists in senior secondary subjects. Secondment or fixed term opportunity available until 30 June 2027. Wellington preference but can work remotely nationally. The Product Manager, Industry Led Subjects role sits in the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme which is a key unit within Te Poutāhū Curriculum Centre. The Programme works in partnership with other Te Poutāhū business units to enable the products and outcomes delivered from these projects to move into the business for ongoing delivery, maintenance, and support. Responsibilities Understanding the curriculum and assessment design vision and using it to lead teams toward consistent, high- quality outcomes. Aid the organisational cohesion that enables coherence across subjects, teams, and leaders. Operating both downstream (supporting teams) and upstream (informing strategy), ensuring that decisions and delivery remain tightly connected. Salary range: $119,171 - $144,560 per annum + KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience. About you To be successful in this role you will bring the following: A deep understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and its application in secondary and vocational education settings. Extensive experience in curriculum design, development, and implementation, including Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways. Proven experience leading and supporting Technical Writers and subject matter experts to develop high-quality curriculum products. Strong quality assurance skills, with the ability to review, refine, and assure curriculum products against agreed standards, quality frameworks, and strategic objectives. Experience developing and maintaining templates, guidance materials, and other resources that support consistent curriculum product development. The ability to establish and facilitate communities of practice that build capability, encourage collaboration, and support continuous improvement. Significant school-based experience and a strong understanding of curriculum delivery, teaching practice, and learner needs. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Industry Skills Boards, curriculum specialists, subject matter experts, and Ministry teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex curriculum and policy requirements into clear, practical guidance. About our group and team The Phase 5 Assessment team works collaboratively with other kaimahi and is responsible for assisting in the design and building of the requirements for New Zealand Curriculum. This will be used as the base to develop all Curriculum products required within the Programme. The Phase 5 Assessment team is made up of highly experienced education professionals with a range of specialisms.
