Chief Financial Officer - Thornhill

This Hawke's Bay-based Chief Financial Officer role is an exciting opportunity to step in and lead the financial reporting and steer the commercial performance of one of New Zealand's leading labour and workforce solutions providers. Thornhill is an award-winning, well-established, and fast-growing labour supplier in the viticulture and horticulture industries. Supporting growers and clients across Hawke's Bay and Marlborough, the business employs more than 1,300 people and plays an important role in connecting people, productivity, and quality service across NZ's primary sector. This is an exciting time to join the business as they look to prepare for significant growth ahead. Reporting to the General Manager, and working closely with the Board, you will lead the financial management, commercial analysis and financial control functions across the business. You will sit across cashflow management, scenario modelling, forecasting, budgeting, risk management, payroll, as well as the management and development of their people and their finance systems. You will ensure robust financial controls and compliance while delivering timely, accurate information that enables confident decision-making at both Board and operational level. This is a sleeves rolled up finance leadership role, guiding a small finance team, and contributing right across the business. To be successful, you must be able to balance strategic and commercial thinking with a practical hands-on approach. You must be CA or CPA qualified. And you will bring a strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation and compliance as well as proficiency in management accounting, financial modelling and cost and margin management. This will suit an engaging and collaborative leader who can build trusted relationships across the business.
