Job Description
Position Title – Programme Manager & Field Education Coordinator – Social Practice Location – Bay of Plenty Team – Social Practice Position Type – Permanent, Full‑time (1.0 FTE) Lead and coordinate the Social Practice portfolio, including delivery and field education for Te Ata Māhina, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). This role supports programme quality, placements, and partnerships across the social sector. Join a growing, purpose‑led team at a pivotal stage. Social Practice supports pathways into social work, youth work, mental health, addiction and Whānau Ora. You’ll work alongside passionate kaiako and partners to deliver meaningful outcomes for ākonga. Lead academic delivery and programme planning Manage budget, EFTS, and performance outcomes Provide leadership and team wellbeing support Coordinate BSW placements and provider links Ensure NZQA and SWRB compliance standards Support consortium and accreditation activity Strengthen community and sector partnerships Drive continuous improvement and equity focus You bring: Degree in social work or related discipline Programme leadership or teaching experience Knowledge of NZQA quality processes Field education or placement experience Strong stakeholder and iwi engagement skills Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is the largest vocational education provider in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.
