Patient Care Technician - Alliant Specialty Acute Care Hospital - Days

Summary Works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse providing patient care in the clinical setting. Cares for a group of assigned patients with various needs to ensure safe, high-quality care is delivered. Care includes but is not limited to providing patients’ daily needs such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, toileting, ensuring safety measures are in place, communication with patient and care team, and documentation of care provided. Additional skills include urinary catheter insertion and removal, removal of IV reseal, suprapubic catheter care, telemetry lead placement, and ostomy care/maintenance. Minimum Qualifications BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Patient Care Technician certification (if applicable) and/or other specialty reference summary. Active CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within seven days of hire. 6 months acute care experience, or 1-year skilled nursing facility experience, or completion of a BayCare sponsored Nursing Assistant or PCT Internship, or completion of Nursing Fundamentals (RN), or Nursing Foundation (LPN) programs, or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only, or completion of a PCT or Nursing Assistant program that includes a clinical component. Preferred Qualifications Experience: at least 1 year in a hospital related field. EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) credentials. Education High School or Equivalent.
