Butchery Inwards Goods Assistant

Inwards Goods Assistant – Butchery Department (Full Time) PAK’nSAVE Silverdale is looking for a reliable and motivated Inwards Goods Assistant to join our Butchery team on a full-time basis. This is a key role ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of all incoming stock for the butchery department. About the Role: As an Inwards Goods Assistant, you will be responsible for receiving, checking, and processing all deliveries into the butchery department. You will ensure stock is handled safely, accurately, and in line with food safety standards, supporting the team to maintain high product quality for our customers. Key Responsibilities: Receive and check all incoming butchery deliveries against invoices and purchase orders Ensure correct quantities, quality, and temperature compliance of all products Accurately record and report any discrepancies or damaged goods Safely handle and store stock in chillers and freezers Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the inwards goods area Assist with stock rotation (FIFO) and inventory control Work closely with the butchery team to ensure efficient stock flow Follow all health & safety and food safety procedures at all times What We’re Looking For: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good physical fitness (this role involves very heavy lifting) Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold environment Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Good communication and teamwork skills Previous experience in a supermarket, butchery, or inwards goods role is preferred but not essential What We Offer: Supportive team environment On-the-job training and development Opportunities for career progression within the store If you are hardworking, organised, and ready to be part of a busy butchery team, we would love to hear from you.
