This role is deeply meaningful, allowing you to be creative and make each day engaging and significant for those you support. Your responsibilities include: Building independence: Help people grow their daily living skills, from catching public transport to cooking their own meals. Supporting daily life: Assist with personal care routines such as showering, getting dressed, and taking medication. Pursuing goals and interests: Encourage and support people to engage in their interests, hobbies, and personal goals. Staying healthy and well: Support healthy choices and overall wellbeing in a way that works for each person. Supporting complex behaviours: Provide calm, consistent support with behaviour management, ensuring dignity, safety, and respect. Creating connections: Support and strengthen relationships with whānau, colleagues, and the wider community. Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude and compassion. Flexibility to work rostered shifts. A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours. Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
