About the Role As Delivery Lead – Immunisation and Screening, you will provide operational leadership across key prevention initiatives, working closely with national, regional, and local teams to turn strategic priorities into effective, community-focused programmes. You will lead the delivery of priority projects and workstreams from concept through to implementation, ensuring prevention services are innovative, equitable, responsive, and continuously improving. Success in this role requires the ability to influence across organisational boundaries, build trusted relationships, and bring diverse stakeholders together to achieve shared outcomes. This is a role where strategic thinking meets practical delivery, offering the opportunity to create meaningful impact on population health outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of priority immunisation and screening programmes and initiatives Build and maintain strong relationships with providers, iwi, community organisations, and key stakeholders to support successful service delivery Drive service improvement, innovation, and new models of care that enhance access and participation Provide expert leadership across complex projects, ensuring effective management of risks, resources, timelines, and dependencies Support the alignment of national priorities with regional and local delivery approaches Champion equity-focused approaches that improve outcomes for Māori and reduce inequities across priority populations Provide high-quality advice and recommendations to support informed decision-making and programme success About the Service The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people’s health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. About you To be successful in this role, you’ll combine strong operational delivery experience with excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll also bring: A relevant tertiary qualification Demonstrated experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice Proven experience working within the health sector across advisory, programme delivery, or operational functions Strong project management and programme delivery capability Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences Experience building and maintaining effective relationships across organisations and sectors The ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a complex environment A collaborative, flexible, and solutions-focused approach Postgraduate qualification in Public Health would be desirable Formal project management training or certification Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
