The Role Based in Cambridge, this role will see you joining the Fire Protection and Hydraulics team, delivering the design and documentation of fire protection and hydraulic services across a diverse range of building projects. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept design and feasibility through detailed documentation, construction support, and project completion. Your responsibilities will include fire sprinkler and hydrant system design, hydraulic services design, calculations, specification writing, Revit coordination, and liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with New Zealand standards. For more experienced engineers, the role also offers opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior team members, contribute to technical standards, and strengthen client relationships. About You You are a Fire Protection and/or Hydraulics Engineer with building services consultancy experience who enjoys delivering technically sound, practical engineering solutions. You are confident working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and taking ownership of your projects. You will bring: A BE (Mechanical), BE (Civil), or equivalent engineering qualification Around 3-8+ years' experience in fire protection and/or hydraulic services design within a building services consultancy Experience delivering projects from concept through to construction Strong knowledge of New Zealand Building Code requirements and relevant standards, including NZS 4541, NZS 4512, NZS 4515, and hydraulic services standards Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, hydraulic and fire design software, and Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to coordinate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams Working towards or holding Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status will be viewed favourably.
