As the result of recent large wins and our growing backlog of work, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Project Consultant to join our Land Quality & Remediation team in our Auckland office. This is a permanent, full‑time role suited for a candidate with 10+ years of experience in the investigation and management of contaminated land, environmental monitoring programmes and a background in Acid Sulfate Soils assessment. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will work closely with contaminated land practitioners and other technical specialists comprising soil scientists, geochemists, planners, geotechnical and civil engineers, hydrogeologists, risk assessors, occupational hygienists, and mine closure and landfill specialists to support a truly diverse range of meaningful projects locally in Auckland as well as across NZ. Job Tasks & Responsibilities Committed to our core principles in health and safety, and environment and sustainability. Undertaking PSIs, DSIs, remediation, validation and environmental monitoring. Undertaking field work, including soil, soil vapour, sediment, acid sulfate soils, surface water, groundwater and landfill gas sampling along with well installation and logging. Contributing to the preparation of quality reports (PSI, SAQP, DSI, RAPs, validation reports) and demonstrating an understanding of QA/QC requirements. For senior consultants, proven track record in preparing and winning proposals, along with proven project managing skills and reviewing of PSIs and simple DSIs. Display confidence in data analysis and interpretation. Actively engaged in professional development and professional associations. Working in a team environment and on multidisciplinary projects. Developing peer relationships in client organisations. Skills & Experience A professional qualification in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, soil science or other earth science related degree. Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience. Proven experience in proposal preparation, project management, and leading small project teams. Ability to develop client relationships with peers, strong focus on client delivery and commercial acumen, and identifying opportunities for repeat business. Proven ability to win and deliver PSIs and simple DSIs. Proven capability in contaminated land investigation and management, and monitoring programmes. Understanding of regulatory environment and national guidelines. Completion of field programmes and the scoping of these for senior practitioners. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and technical report writing. Computer literacy including data management and manipulation. Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑motivation and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Demonstrated strong collaboration and communication and supports team in fostering a positive team culture. Excellent driving history and hold a current unrestricted driver's licence. The salary range for this role is between $100,000 and $115,000 depending on an individual's skills and experience.
